People
Health and safety remains the Tata Steel Group’s first priority, with clear objectives set and constantly monitored for health, process safety and occupational safety.

Safe workplace
We are committed to ensuring zero harm to our employees, contractors and the communities in which we operate. This is integral to our business process and is laid down in our health and safety policies, standards and working procedures.

Health promotion
Tata Steel is totally committed to safeguarding and promoting the physical, mental and social well-being of its employees.

Ethical behaviour
Ethical behaviour is intrinsic to the way we conduct our business and is part of our legacy from the founder of the Tata Group, Jamsetji Tata, who believed that business must operate in a way that respects the rights of all its stakeholders and creates an overall benefit for society.
European Works Council
The Tata Steel Europe European Works Council (EWC) was formed on 25 April 2000 as a result of the integration of the EWCs from British Steel and Koninklijke Hoogovens. It covers all Tata Steel Europe operations in the European Economic Area (EEA).
